 | Miss Raquel Miss Raquel is a VJ on, “electronica” on bpm:tv – “Canada’s only dance channel”. She’s co-founder/owner of Scenester Magazine and host of Scenester Radio. Her column, “Month in Review” can be read in bpm:tv’s newsletter “The Beat” once a month.
“She’s been crowned Toronto’s Paris Hilton of club culture, but unlike the hotel heiress, our blond scene stirrer…actually works”, wrote Lawrence Chau of Toronto’s Metro News. She was Paris Hilton’s Official Toronto host for the release of her self titled debut CD, “Paris Hilton” (Warner Brothers) at Toronto’s Voglie with DJ/producer DJTK.
Her title is Chief Scenester, of Scenester Magazine, an online magazine catering to Canada’s EMS. Scenester Radio which stemmed from “The Splash” on Slurpy Radio is an online radio station where Miss Raquel interviews DJs/producers, tastemakers and Scenesters. She’s been a guest on Toronto’s PROUD FM (103.9FM), Club246 (100.7FM) and Energy Radio (105.5FM).
Miss Raquel will be featured in an upcoming documentary, “Global Groove Network” directed and written by Courtney James. She was also featured in the documentary, “After-hours” directed by Stephanie Kittell. And she co-produced “bpm:tv Presents Canada’s Finest House” on bpm:tv.
Also called “Queen Of The Dancefloor” she is the Official host of Pride Toronto’s Center Stage (2009) and she’s been featured on bpm:tv’s 60bpm’s with Jeff Rustia, fab Magazine, Metro News (Toronto), houseaddict.com, an Industry NLI Feature Girl, blogtv.ca, WEB2.0TV and now she’ll be at this year’s SMC. She says, “it’s a great honour to be apart of a conference this country needs to showcase the great talent pool we have in the vast musical country, and thanks to Angel for doing it.” Event producer and founder of the infamous tribal house series, JaXx HouZe – The Enchanted Tribal Platoon has kept her on the forefront of the great talent Canada has, and what makes a excellent event successful. She’s the Canadian booking agent for producers D-Unity, DJTK and DJ iRGO.
