What are SMC DJ Spin Offs?

One of the highlights of the SMC is the DJ Spin-Off  - gathering talented DJs from all over Canada to mix and scratch their way to supremacy.

This event will be held in two parts: the first being on Wednesday 19th August - is for Beat Matching and the second on Thursday 20th August - is for Scratching. Held at School Liberty village, Toronto SMC's DJ Spin-Off will be have a celebrity host and judges and give you the opportunity to witness individuals take modern Djing and make it an Art-form.

Guidelines for entry:

    • All entries must include a completed application form, entry fee ($25.00),
      bio and demo (wav, mp3, CD or cassette tape format).

    • Demo's must be no longer than 5 minutes in length and must be
      reflective of the DJs prospective performance.

    • DJs may enter both Beat Mixing + Scratching competitions.

    • Submissions are subject to approval.

    • Demo material submitted will not be returned.

       • No last minute entries or substitutes are allowed & no submissions will be reviewed after the deadline.
        
    • DJs must bring their own headphones to the competition.

    • All judges' decisions are final.
