| | What is EDMA? BPM TV come together with SMC to start the voting for the 2009 Electronic Dance Music Awards. Next year (2009), Toronto becomes the home to one of the most prestigious dance music award ceremonies in Canada. With over 50 categories featuring artists from all over the world and across all genres, including categories for local talent and bands, with hopes to inspire local musicians and the dance scene in our city. The official voting starts on the last day of the SMC and will last for the next ten months as votes will be counted and the award ceremony next year will wrap up a full year of voting. To start this process E.D.M.A teams up with SMC Live to host the main stage of LOVE Festival on Sunday July 27th. Although it's the largest party of the conference converging all seven festivals together, this event is the official closing party at this year’s SMC. As well as the musical categories, voting will include categories for best club, best magazine and best promoter, amongst others.
